Dr. Carrato performs minimally invasive endovascular surgery as well as conventional vascular surgery to treat diseases of the arteries in patients with vascular disease. His expertise in vascular surgery encompasses the treatment of diseases of the blood vessels in all areas but the heart. Vascular problems that can be treated at Carrato Surgical Associates include stenosis (narrowing of the arteries), occlusions (complete blockage of the arteries) and aneurysms (stretching/ballooning of the artery caused by the weakening of the arterial wall).

Through minimally invasive or traditional surgery, depending on the patient's needs, Dr. Carrato treats vascular disease in the extremities, abdomen and neck. This treatment includes endovascular carotid angioplasty/stenting, conventional carotid endarterectomy, endovascular lower extremity angioplasty/stenting/cryoablation, lower extremity bypass surgery, endovascular AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) repair and creation of arteriovenous fistulas for dialysis therapy access.
